Met mi señora today! She is adorable. Definitely the most stylish señora of the group. She is very patient with my awful Spanish. But somehow, we are managing to communicate.
For dinner she made us Gazpacho and tortilla de patata. We went through the textbook conversation – do you have brothers, where are you from, what do you study, etc. I did a pretty good job recalling my Spanish 1 and 2 in order to answer her questions, but when I tried to explain that I was the baby of the family, she thought I meant I had a baby sister. She asked if my parents were young, and when I told her how old they were, her face looked shocked. With some help from Erin, I managed to explain that no, my parents did not have a baby. She just laughed and replied that she thought it would be hard to have a baby at that age.
