A document of my good (and bad) decisions and their consequences during my time in Sevilla, Spain
Almost burnt down my señora’s kitchen today trying to make toast. I really did not inherit the cooking gene. Not even a little bit. (In my defense though, I’ve never seen a toaster like this one in the states.) But, I finally understand what all this hype is about coffee. It is fabulous. I can stay up late, but still wake up in time for my 9 am class ready to seize the day. And I’ve learned my lesson – coffee before cooking in the am.
Today after my Spanish class, I was still cracked out on my two cups of coffee, so I walked to the river and explored El Parque Maria Luisa and La Plaza de España. The park was full of giant magnolia trees and lots of other flowering trees and plants my parents and Gma would have spent hours naming had they been there. The plaza was very impressive (and not just because that is where one of the Star Wars movies was filmed. Yep. Google it.).
Lots of white pigeons in Spain. According to my professor, this is because the white pigeons form posses and kill the grey ones. No joke. You can Google that one too.
I was also surprised at how many people here have curly hair! Maybe I’m not Puerto Rican afterall…soy española posiblamente?
