Things I’m bringing back to the states from Espana:
- Mi senora
- Rollerblading - It is everywhere. I feel like I’m in a bad 90s movie…I love it!
- Siestas
- Eating carbs - I love that it is socially acceptable for bread and potatoes to be a main part of every meal (which unfortunately means I’m probably brining back some extra cushioning as well)
- ‘Vale’ - They use this word for everything: okay, cool, right, etc. It’s basically become my default word when I have no idea what is being said to me.
- A Spaniard (or two)
Things I will most definitely be leaving behind:
- Eating with my left hand - Now, not only do I sound like a dumb mute when trying to speak, but I also look like an idiot when trying to eat
- Having to make my bed every day - This is probably the most difficult thing I’ve ever had to do in my life (second only to having to write an entire paragraph in cursive on the SAT)
