Caballos en Jerez. Before we did the wine tasting, we got to see a short horse show (another thing Jerez is famous for). Although personally, I think the horses got to the wine before we did. There is no way a sober horse could do some of the things they were doing! They were walking sideways, backwards, backwards and sideways at the same time… At one point, the trainer even got the horse to kneel down and army crawl forward on its front legs.
I also now understand why our tour guide at the Alhambra used “glock glock glock” for his horse sound. The trainer was making all these strange clicking noises with his mouth to tell the horse what to do. Even animal noises sound better in Spanish. My favorite is the rooster. They say ki kiri ki instead of cock-a-doolde-do. Cats are the only ones that still suck (no surprise there). They just say meow.
